Location
The campus is located in the center of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The region has one of the highest concentrations of corporate headquarters in the United States, the largest information technology industry base in the state, and is the 5th largest media market in the country.
UTA’s location in the metroplex allows students innumerable internship opportunities, providing them with the professional experience they need before graduation.
Campus Life
In addition to academics, UTA also has vibrant campus life to ensure students succeed both in and out of the classroom. Students can join one of the 300 student organizations available, root for our 12 NCAA Division I sports teams, and live and learn among a resident population of more than 10,000 students.
The campus spans 420 acres with more than 100 buildings dating back from 1919. Recent construction includes the $160 million, 20 acre College Park District—a place where students, neighbors, and visitors engage in stellar entertainment, sports, and restaurants. The College Park District is also home to the $78 million, 7,000 seat College Park Center. The stadium hosts the University’s basketball and volleyball teams and the WNBA’s Dallas Wings.
Additionally, the $34.5 million, 19,000-square-foot Maverick Activities Center is free to students and allows them to stay fit while studying at UTA. The facility includes a 20,000-square-foot weight and fitness room, five indoor-basketball courts, two indoor tracks, an indoor-soccer gymnasium, an indoor-rock-climbing wall, and more.
Throughout their time at UTA, students remain engaged in campus culture and take part in a comprehensive educational experience that is the foundation for their future.
English Language Institute
The mission of UTA’s English Language institute (ELI) is to provide welcoming, high-quality, and intensive English as a Second Language programs that assist international students improve the English skills needed to pursue academic studies in a U.S. university. ELI also helps students adjust to the North Texas culture so their academic pursuits at the university are enjoyable and productive.
The University offers an Intensive English Program for undergraduates, as well as a Graduate English Skills Program for students seeking an advanced degree.
